| Where does WeatherClip get its data? | WeatherClip gets the majority of the weather from DynCorp DUATs (www.duats.com). We use DUATs because it provides timely weather information and is an FAA approved weather source. Additionally, we retrieve some information directly from the FAA and ARINC. |
| Does WeatherClip work in flight? | WeatherClip was designed for updating your preflight weather briefing and keeping track of dynamic weather conditions. The FCC restricts the use of cellular devices when in flight. Because WeatherClip is not specific as to the wireless device that you use, you will have to check with the device manufacturer to determine whether you can use that device in flight. Also, FAR 91.21 prohibits the use of some portable electronic devices when flying in the IFR system. Please consult the pilot in command before using any devices in flight. |
